    1. I found a big forgotten pot behind the shed. It has two oak trees in it planted by a forgetful squirrel.

Likewise tomatoes outside never ripen normally up here this year they are.

Also Zinnias grows from seed are amazing I will definitely be growing them again. It’s been a good year for a lot of things really.

    3. We realised today that the dull 30ft feral plum tree in the hedge* was in fact a greengage. I’m sure it hasn’t fruited the last 7 years, but we picked a boxful this morning.

      *loosely applied term.

Just taking on a new garden at the moment, and the weird apple tree we have (along with the multiple normal apple and pear trees!) turns out to be a quince!!!

Have a similar rogue tomato growing happily out the side of my raised beds; the less said about the ones in the greenhouse the better.

I have pumpkins that grew from seeds from one i chucked in the compost last Halloween

The blueberry sapling I planted really took to the soil well, and it is now almost 7 feet tall. I apparently need another plant of the species before they can fruit, so that’s next on my list.

We used a bit of earth pinched from below our lawn to put some apple root stock trimmings into and a load of violas and pansies grew in the pot.
