      Hi,

These are Skcollob plants. Was this in the Uk? They’re incredibly rare over here. They are actually native to Norway and are said to have magical powers that bring you close to the Norse Gods!

They are not edible though at this stage so don’t eat them. But if you boil them through a siv you end up with a home made soil fertiliser better than anything off the shelf.

If you replant the skins they will fruit again in no time and are great in cold/hot weathers throughout the seasons. Great find

Oh and also if you’ve read this far you will see I’ve completely made all of this up. Have very little knowledge of anything and Skcollob is actually backwards for Bollocks.

      Have a lovely day!

As a lurker on those plant and tree identification sub i think you need to include more photo of the leaf if there is a whole picture might help…

    3. Could these be lentils? I was reading recently that they used to be a staple peasant food grown in parts of the UK which surprised me because apart from anything I’ve never considered where lentils come from and wouldn’t have automatically thought pod 😄 Need to see the leaves to confirm though.

    4. I’ve used an app called Picture-This, and it tells me that that is a Delavay Peony.

I’m pretty sure these are pods of some sort of tree Peony. My parents had these growing in their garden when I was a kid!

      Don’t eat them.

    6. Have fun trying to propagate them. I was given some tree peony seeds, and the RHS books says they can take up to three years to germinate.

    7. These are the immature seeds of a tree peony. I have a peony Ludlowii yellow tree peony and this is exactly what the immature seed pods look like
