That’s butterfly weed I don’t know which variety they are depends on where you are which variety it is but I have them around here they like areas that are on slopes that have at least moderately drain soil anything from heavy clay to silt they do not like being disturbed if the ground is Disturbed too much they’ll never come back they don’t like being repeatedly mowed down either which is unfortunately since they typically grow in the had to h hay fields around here at least they don’t grow as dense as milkweeds do well common milkweeds then things if you happen to have some beside to set up shop in the edge of your yard then they quickly spread into your yard and they’ll choke up the lawn mower quicker than anything and the sap on the is also an irritant for butterfly weed if you break the leaf

I don’t think those big leaves belong g to the orange flower.

Hwllo, it’s a milkweed, depending on where you are located it could be native or not. They help monarch butterflies, but if it’s not native to your area it could damage more. Where are you located?

The real threat of this strain is that it is harmful to monarch caterpillars. It doesn’t die back in winter until months after the native milkweed does, and there’s a parasite that continues to grow on the tropical plant that kills monarch caterpillars. Also, monarchs will linger in the US long after it should migrate to southern locales, since the tropical milkweed is still around and the butterflies continue to get nectar. Then it’s too cold for the monarchs and they die here.
