Ich bin dabei, mehr Natur und Grün in meinen Garten zu bringen. Wenn ich diesen Kies entfernen müsste, könnte ich dann etwas entlang dieser Kante pflanzen? Es ist etwa 15 cm breit und liegt größtenteils im Schatten. Die Qualität des Bodens wird schlecht sein. Als letzten Ausweg wäre ich mit Unkraut zufrieden, aber etwas Überlegteres wäre schön.

I have a strip like this. Gets a tiny bit of evening sun and crocosmia has self seeded here weirdly? So maybe that? I don’t think there’s much soil there. I don’t know where it came from. Bizarre!
Just as a warning – That gravel strip might be performing a very important drainage function! I would check that first before planting anything in its place
If you don’t mind something potentially bushy sticking up at the edge, Herb Robert is a native geranium that’ll grow just about anywhere, and will flower in deep shade (pink flowers loved by bees). It likes growing against walls and out of crevices.
There may be ferns that would be happy in full shade, but I suspect your difficulty will be what it’s growing in – likely gravel with little under it? Probably dries out quickly and has poor nutrients, so the ideal thing would actually be native unwanted weeds and not much else.
If you wanted to grow something better there you should remove the gravel, dig out the area down to about 6 inches and put better soil in there because that’s the main limiting factor right now (besides lack of light).
Herb Robert has been mentioned. It has a white form which is beautiful.
Well worth looking for.
Begonia grandis evansiana is thriving for me in deep shade. It’s deciduous but I’ve under planted it with Arum italicum ‘Marmoratum’ which gives year round interest.
Mind you mine is damp shade but I suspect they do in dry shade also.
If you own the fence an ivy would cover it nicely.
I found a pic of the planting I mentioned. There’s a white herb Robert flower to the top right. It’s not a great photo but you’ll get the idea.

The Arum leaves were just dying off but you can see them to the lower left.
