It is for that one! It’s a stapelia. It looks like a very good specimen but sooner you than me!

I own a queen of the night. The flower of it smells like a wet old slightly moldy library.

      I kinda like it. 😅

Well thats not a cactus to begin with, Stapelias are plants in the Dogbane and Milkweed family, they are not related to true cactus

This plant is more closely related to milkweed, oleander, and periwinkles than Cactus. Stapelia is indigenous to South Africa, and this plant relies of mimicking the smell of decomposing meat in order to attract carrion flies (which is its pollinator) to its flowers. Yes, it is perfectly normal for them to smell a bit funky when in flower. You can trim the flowers off if you really want to, but the flowers don’t last super long.

They smell so bad because they are pollinated by flies. The flies think it’s a dead animal and try and get all up in there. Instead they get a little pollen pouch stuck to their back to take to the next “desert starfish.”

That’s not a cactus, its a stapelia. it’s a member of the milkweed family. It’s more closer related to Hoya than to cactus. But yes it’s very normal for that group of plants to smell very bad.
