Aphids, you can squish most of them by hand (gross, I know) and then use a dilute solution of soapy water in a spray bottle using dish soap to kill off the remaining ones. Just need a couple drops per cup of water. Spray the plant every other day until they’re gone, usually takes a week or two but the soapy water is a very effective pesticide-free solution.

If your garden center has ladybugs or lacewings, those are great natural predators for aphids.

They are very easy to get rid of if you start early and stay consistent just hosing them off every day early in the morning before the sun hits the plant 🙂 Try to resist buying any kind of spray for them, even the ones that say “bee-safe” aren’t great for bees. I know it can be tempting lol I have roses too and these guys drive me nuts

  4. Yes, those are aphids, I get them a lot on my roses, and they drive me crazy too. I agree with the above advice, soapy water, ladybugs, water hose, etc, and I have tried them all. But I found that the fastest and most effective way is using your fingers. Just squeeze them, squish them, shake them off, remove them one way or the other. Yes it sounds gross, but it’s quick and efficient, and most often you won’t see them again during the year. Good luck, and enjoy your roses.

Aphids! 🐞 Ladybugs to the rescue. Order a bag of them and sprinkle them free over the roses, pronto

Aphids get some ladybugs and release them around sundown until then use your hose and spray them away

Get a pump sprayer from Amazon and a liquid refill rose care from Home Depot, mix as instructed and spray in the evening. This save a lot of money and you can use for fruit, etc.

Don’t water the leaves and flowers, just the ground.

Too much nitrogen in the soil, maybe cut back from fertilizing next year.

In my experience, the ladybugs fly away. You need the ladybug larvae.

I just blasted them with water. Seen them again. Soapy water.

No need to do anything, the ants will take care of this. If you have a nest nearby you could replant it next to them. Don’t leave it too long just to clear the aphids. They do a fabulous job but if you leave them too long they will also murder the plant.

  11. You can also hose them off. Use an on/off valve mostly shut so there is a high pressure stream coming out. You’ll need to adjust the flow from the spigot too. Then you can spray them off. The aphids are soft-bodied and the water pressure will knock them out.
