Only upside is the grounds wet so it lifts easily and nothing else is growing for it to tangle into.

Already? Bloody hell good luck comrade I haven’t properly had a look out back yet but if last year was anything to go by I migh be tempted by chemical methods this year. Does weed killer work on this effectively?

    3. Train it up a couple of bamboo canes, when there’s a decent amount, leaving it in the ground, unravel it from canes and stuff it into a plastic shopping bag bruising the leaves. Spray a systemic weed killer into the bag and tie the handles together (with most of the plant inside the bag. Leave it a week or two and the whole plant right down to all the roots will be killed

And lets not forget how good a warm wet winter is for slugs…..

But on the upside we are almost certainly past last frost, March is forecast to be warm

The yearly Battle of the Bindweed. I am slowly winning. 5 years and there I definitely less, but I know if I stop it will return with a vengeance. Bastard plant.

Oh goodness my whole garden is infested with this stuff! The struggle continues……..

    9. I took over this plot 8 years ago. It was a mess, local chap said if you clear it, I’ll rotovate it for you…little did I know. It created a trillion⁹ of new bind weed plants.

My best forbidden noodle I have pulled was 12 feet long.

I mainly just snap at the soil and kill in a bucket of water before composting. My other tip is don’t give it anything to grasp and grow up. I’ve put gravel boards at the bottom of all my fences for ease of weeding.

Oh no… not the bindweed. If you’ve spotted it already, start pulling now while the soil’s wet. Get as much of the root as you can – it snaps easily but the deeper you go, the better. It’s a long game unfortunately.

Already!?? I don’t use any weedkiller or anything on the garden, but we are inundated from the local park, what is the least worst systemic weedkiller to use?

    12. If only it was edible…then it might be worth something. I know chickens love it.

That’s gardening for ya . I’ve dug over some beds this week and pulled out loads of it like spaghetti. I find it likes to make a nest sort of . Keeps you busy though and don’t cause to much trouble . I use strulch on the beds it helps loads although it’s an extra cost .

I personally found the bindweed battle one that can be won.

It took me a year of ruthless weeding and now it’s only the odd bit here and there.

      You’ve got this!
