    1. From N.E. in the US, but here, we have beautiful butterfly caterpillars (Eastern Swallowtail is one in particular) that love the fronds of Dill, Fennel, and Carrots. Don’t know what you have – but I’m sure it will be welcome!

      Just did a quick identification – and think it’s the Orchard Swallowtail

      It’s usually worth it to set aside some herbs that are just for butterflies. If I find a caterpillar on the herbs meant for eating, I’ll transplant it gently onto the sacrificial ones. Having swallowtails in the garden is awesome.

      DILLERPILLAR!!

      last time I had one it was a swallowtail butterfly but I think he got eaten before he was able to metamorphose

      They will absolutely demolish your dill but they’re soo cool to watch

      Wait a minute, that’s not a Swallowtail! Cute caterpillar. Dill and related herbs attract so many caterpillars. They’re welcome to it though.
