Placing it near sunny window wouldn’t have turned to leaves yellow like that. Is the location in this picture the sunny window you’re talking about?

Yellowing bamboo leaves often indicate stress from overwatering, poor water quality (chlorine/fluoride), excessive direct sunlight, or nutrient deficiencies. For Lucky Bamboo, use filtered water and move to bright, indirect light. Trim away yellow leaves to prevent decay spread.

Tap water contains chemicals that cause yellowing. Use filtered, distilled, or rainwater. Try to change water frequently to prevent root rot; trim yellow parts to stop decay, but if the entire stalk yellows, cut the healthy top to propagate a new plant.

While Lucky Bamboo doesn’t need much fertilizer, it does need some nutrients. Use a diluted liquid fertilizer specifically for Lucky Bamboo sparingly, usually once a month during the growing season.
