Hallo, unser Nachbar baut ein neues Haus und hat im Rahmen der Bauarbeiten den alten Holzzaun abgerissen und durch einen neuen (aus Holz-Kunststoff-Verbundwerkstoff) ersetzt. Ehrlich gesagt gefiel mir unser alter Holzzaun besser; es sah natürlicher und gemütlicher aus. Jetzt gibt es diese große Metallkonstruktion auf unserer Seite. Haben Sie Ideen, wie dieser Zaun verbessert werden kann? Oder ist es so wie es ist in Ordnung? Wir möchten auf unserer Seite nicht so viel Geld in die Abdeckung des Zauns investieren. Ich füge auch Fotos des vorherigen Zustands bei.

Keep it clean now. I like the metal. A pressure washer should make short work of cleaning the fence. Looks like it brightens up the yard too
It’s interesting that they have turned the fence around? It was facing you and now it is facing them. I find this tells a tale. If it is their fence ( check the Land Reg documents plan for a ‘T’ on the fence to show ownership/responsibility) then this is the wrong way around. The Outside should be the ‘nice side’ for example if your property borders a path. Check who owns the fence as it would imply that it was theirs in the original photo but the boards have now been put in the wrong way round. A common mistake by those who only think about themselves.
That metal frame is hideous. Check your local building codes, normally the ‘nice’ side is supposed to face out.
Which zone do you live in? A fence of a nice smelling jasmine would be awesome ❤️
Yes, I have heard that this is how it works in the US. That is why I was interested in whether something like this also works in our country… unfortunately not. Here, there is a rule that the owner should build a fence on the right side of their property (which is the case here) – but even that is not mandatory. As an example, we built the previous fence ourselves, as the original owner did not want to invest in it. This new neighbor built a fence “on the nice side facing him” from all his neighbors.
