How much time are you will to spend, and are you willing to invest in a few plant hormones? It’s possible, Weyerhaeuser has an old patent detailing the process in White Pines for clonal propagation. But it is a pain in the A and can take > a year and chances are is that it will just rot. Buy a bonsai fir tree and start from there. My wife and I buy a potted small tree for Christmas and plant it in the spring each year. Been doing it for 15 years and have trees in 5 states and 2 countries.
If you want an inside pine tree, I would suggest buying a norfolk pine. They make a very good house plant. And they’ll get good sized in a few years.
Apparently it takes two years to air layer a pine tree so no to air layering a Christmas tree that will be dead in two months.
Making clones from the lower limbs is doable.
If you’re in an area with a u-cut tree farm, buy from your local tree farmer. Then you’re supporting a small biz, and it’s a sustainable crop that gets replanted every few years.
I can’t imagine a tree that has been cut for weeks at this point, has much life left in it..
You’d be better off trying cuttings. You’ll need rooting hormons, and a way to keep the cuttings from drying out while simultaneously avoiding rotting. Bottom heat will be helpful, too. It looks like you have some sort of fir, there.
Those trees are produced my the millions for the purpose of being X-mas trees. They will never have the chance of becoming a mature, forest tree. Don’t feel guilty.
