      Roots aren’t able up take in water either from over watering or under watering. You can let the dirt dry out before watering again. Put it near a window that gets morning sun and bright indirect sun the rest of the day. 

    2. That looks like a Heartleaf philodendron. Is it in a pot in that white pot or just planted directly in the white pot? If it’s in just the white pot, does it have drainage? It looks like it could use a repot to help lift it up higher to the top of the pot instead of sinking in. It also looks thirsty but the soil looks wet. Did you just receive it? Has it recently been watered?
