This Gardenia is lovely. Mine always remind me of orange and vanilla.

I have gardenia plants in my yard placed near the windows in my home because I love when a gentle breeze carries the smell into my home. It is one of my favorite smells. It’s even better when mixed with petrichor. Sublime.

Yes! I used to live in Cupertino, California, and when I would walk the dog every single spring time every single yard would be covered, absolutely covered with jasmine. It smelled so good and I’m so obsessed with it! Now I drink jasmine tea to kind of get my fixed, but nothing compares to being around fresh beds of jasmine spread through the entire neighborhood. I live in Texas. That’s not gonna happen. 🤣

THAT is a gardenia and I used to smell the gardenia at least three houses from the bush. Same principle. Gardenia doesn’t grow in Texas or at least where I’m at.

That’s a gardenia! They do have such a lovely scent! Last month for my Birthday, my daughter asked what I wanted & I sent her the link for 4 gardenias & the seller threw in an additional! I agree with you they smell heavenly, I cannot wait for mine to bloom!

      Gardenia.

I used to love the scent as a kid, but they changed or my nose changed because they don’t smell the same AT ALL.

My granny hated them, she called them ‘funeral flowers’. She was born in 1900, so embalming wasn’t always done for poor Georgia farmers.

Ohh the scent of gardenia.. gorgeous too

Jasmin is a flowering bush..my neighbor uses it as a privacy hedging over his side of the fence.

    7. Jasmine has one of those scents that just stops you for a moment. It’s so calming.

Yeah, as others have said, its a gardenia and yes, I love the scent! My mom and I were successful in growing them indoors and the key was to make a very diluted mix of vinegar to water them with.

Everyone pointing out that this is Gardenia is right. I just want to point out that one of the common names is “Cape Jasmine,” and the scientific name is *Gardenia jasminoides* which basically means “Gardenia that resembles jasmine.” So, it may be that in OP’s area, Gardenia is colloquially referred to as Jasmine.

Also, it’s really weird seeing the name Jasmine so many times in a post; my name is Jasmine and it always jumps out at me when I see it written, lol.
