My mom got this one years ago. It was just a stick in dirt with no leaves. Now it’s our makeshift Christmas tree. Had to start chopping off the top because it’s getting too tall and to encourage more leaves sprouting on the bottom.

I love umbrella trees, they’ve survived a lot of neglect in my house. I have smaller dwarf leaf varieties and larger ones too. The smaller ones like more frequent water, but this guy can go weeks without a drink in the right conditions. They’re prone to scale infestations over winter but if you’ve got no bugs, that’s great!

Schefflera. Dwarf, I believe
*Heptapleurum actinophyllum*. Or rather, 3 of them potted together.
Umbrella tree
I would have pulled it out if it was bone dead.
I passed on that pot at Home Depot last year because of the price.
Incredible find! And in a dumpster!
