We have 3 native varieties of Passiflora or Passionflower here in Australia (one tangy edible, and 2 crimson and red ‘ornamental’ ones)

In India (I think mostly in North India can’t vouch for other parts) it’s called Krishna Kamal which translates to Krishna Lotus. I don’t really know why it’s named after a deity though.

We call it passion fruit or maracujá in Portuguese. I am an Agronomist Engineer, and I worked with passion fruit during my master’s degree. The species has an impressive flower morphology and produces a highly flavorful fruit.
