Danke

No that’s perfect. If it doesn’t look absolutely hideous, you haven’t scarified enough.

  2. Should all come back in a few weeks. I use the moss and weed granules and usually goes patchy looking like I’ve killed the grass. Be fine with a little time ☺️

You haven’t messed up. This looks good, shows you how much moss there was. Now feed it (and water if required) and it’ll come back in a few weeks.

It always looks terrible before it recovers, make sure to apply some grass feed and water when needed and it will come back better than ever.

Its fine. I tend not to scarify this late in the year but don’t panic, it will be fine.

I did mine 2 weeks ago and looked like this. I put down a generous amount of feed n weed a few days later

Its currently bright green and theres been a noticeable increase in birds catching worms from it which I presume is a good sign.

    Its also draining better now.

Wrong time of the year but it will be OK. I scarified mine at the end of spring and then heatwaves started. My garden turned into a desert. Rains returned in August and it looks all green and full of new grass now.

  8. It always looks worse after but if you seed now with good quality seed and top dress that so it doesn’t all get eaten by birds – you will have a luscious lawn by May.

    Looks just ok to me.

A bit late in the season to do this but it’ll be fine.

Aerate it and and feed it.

Perfect. Mine looks as bare as a chimpanzee’s ass when I scarified my back lawn

  11. I have a meadow and post scarification it looks like the first day of the Somme.
Couple of weeks later it looks like Watership Down sans rabbits.
You will soon see a difference

  12. Looks good, might be a bit late now to re seed (because the temps have dropped in the last couple of weeks)but maybe just get some cheap grass seed, chuck it down and hope for the best? Worst case is that you have to chuck some more seed in May

Looks bad but grass recovers quickly. I would get an autumn/winter feed like Elixir which has all the essential nutrients grass needs. Do it now and repeat in a couple of months and follow up in the spring with a spring/summer type. Make sure though that the feed is watered in.

Looks good and plenty of sounds advice in the comments to move forward with. Send us an update in a few weeks if you can!

Not at all, it will look perfect by mid Spring, or even sooner of we have a mild Winter

  16. The lawn usually looks terrible after scaryfing. I wouldn’t worry about it.

What I usually do is throw in some seeds so weeds don’t take hold.

It’s fine, apply some seed, fertiliser and should be good to go.

I would run a 4 wheeled mower over it all nice and low to tidy up all the long stringy bits before doing anything else.

Makes for a better job by exposing more soil for overseeding. Otherwise it will just become the foundation of the new thatch layer. I normally doi it as I’m scarifying. Like do 1 direction, mow low then do another direction mow low in another direction haha
