That looks fantastic, I love your design, it really makes the most of and softens the space. It will take plugs a while to establish so you may not get flowers this year. Depending on your budget, maybe get some more established perennials to give you something this year. Less gaps between plants means less weeds too.

    2. Thank you so much for taking the time to make space for the wildlife too. It looks amazing already and I hope it brings you much joy.

I love the demijohn trickle fountain, please tell me you have progress pics of how you made that, i have 3 that I was going to use as above water sections of a fish pond but now I want to use one like this in my future sink pond!

The pond is *adorable* but I will point out that fencing like that when well done can restrict the movement of a lot of wildlife, so you may not get quite the variety of pond visitors.

Some new build developments have actually started putting in “hedgehog highways” (not just for hedgehogs) because someone’s realised the problem with *really good fencing* (the highway is just a little gap cut into the fence in every garden in a row)

Love the wildlife pond, so cute! And the demijohn fountain is such a great idea!

I have two comments that might help:

      – As someone said, plugs will take a bit to get established, you also don’t want to plant too much because they might look small now, but it does fill up quickly! My usual trick is to plant annuals; they give a good show (even from plugs) and since they don’t come back the next year, you don’t have to worry about crowding your perennials. Cosmos are my favourite, I think JParkers is out of stock, but a quick google and you should find someone still selling plugs.

      – Water lilies are usually deep water plants, most of the varieties need at least 50cm depth (that is 50cm from the top of the pot to the water line) even the miniature varieties need at least 15cm, but 30 is usually recommended. That might be why it’s looking a bit sad.

Best of luck with your garden!
