  1. When I was a kid I used to put apples in the pile of grass cuttings because it was warm and I wanted to see if they would cook. They never did, but I did get warm apples.

Jean Pain was a French man who heated his home and hot water and also made his own bio gas for two years entirely using a single compost heap.

Here are the two original videos. They were filmed on a potato but interesting nevertheless. These have spawned many modern recreations if you search for *Jean Pain compost heating system*.

Vacuum seal a steak, leave it in there for an hour, then remove and sear on a lightning hot pan and you will have the best medium steak you’ve ever had…

That’s brilliant! How long is the temperature probe? How deep in the heap does it go?

Also, Deep in the Heap…album name?

ok I feel like I am failing at compost as I don’t have a temperature gauge…

wait I have one of those probe temp things somewhere… I know what I’m doing tomorrow! I think mine is a bit too dry rn so it will be interesting to see if anything is happening.

Believe it or not, warm compost actually produces more energy per cubic metre than the material that makes up the sun.
