You might want to transplant some small starts instead of seeding straight into the lawn? Just sow thinly in a border and move them into the lawn once they’re a half-decent size.
I’d avoid Prunella like the plague, my lawn came with it and they are horrible at seeding around. Clovers are great in a lawn, as is Bellis perennis. It’s also the perfect time to plant some Crocus bulbs for early spring interest!
You need some yellow rattle in there which will fight back the grass
Few plants can both compete with grass for nutrients/water and cope with being mown. Very few will thrive from just having their seeds chucked into such a challenging environment – much better to plant some plugs so they at least have a head start. You are largely limited to what most consider lawn weeds – white clover, daisy, ribwort plantain, dandelion. There are many others, but they are stoloniferous so will likely escape into your borders and cause problems.
Will not work
You want clover for your lawn
You can scarify it a bit and sow some yellow rattle seeds, they parasitise grasses so they’re good for getting established in existing lawn, then add more species as time goes on. Or you can strip it right back to bare soil and add wildflower seeds for next year. Or you can buy wildflower turf online and lay some of that.
clover, yarrow, selfheal, birds foot trefoil, daisies, ground ivy. these all tolerate high mowing
