You’re doing the right thing by sticking the cutting in water. Move it to a sunnier and watch for roots. Plant when there’s plenty of said roots.
My snake plant took moths to root, so if your patient go for it. To make more rootspace you csn make a video shape cutting on the bottom.
You can always make a couple of cuttings/ pieces of this leaf, just make sure the bottom part is i. The water
I think what other’s have said so far is good advice. Before you put it in your water though, I would leave it out for an hour or so until the break point callouses over. Prevents waterlogging/rot that way!
I’d cut it into shorter sections and make an army of new plants! I usually go for 4″ sections. For snake plants it’s best to let the ends harden off for a day or so to prevent rot. I do chevron cuts so I know which way is up/down.
Let it callus before putting in water. May take a couple days, but you won’t risk rotting.
I do this all the time.
Just keep it in water. change once a week. You should see very fine/thing roots and just wait for the tuber to grow and the roots to continue to grow/spread.

i think less water, at least lower than the dark green area.
Yeah it’ll root. They take forever. I just stick them back in the pot, I don’t bother with the water at all. They are super hardy!
Cut into like 5 but be patient. It will take a while before you see roots
root it and think if it was cut in several ones then more plants root that put in a pot . enjoy
length means was not enough sun for it
