If the blossom on the end is dried up, it could be ripe. They also have a sweet smell, and a patch on the bottom that’s yellow. For more information, try a gardening book or google.
There is a tendril close to where the stem attaches to the vine. If it is brown and dry, it’s time to harvest.
Also if you kept track of the days to harvest, it is also a close of closeness, but the dried tendril is a great indicator
