It’s a sucker from a plum tree – just mow over them . Or dig them up with as much root intact possible if you want to transplant them.

Aha! Another query I have with my garden solved by casually perusing this sub. And yes, I have a shrub that produces some kind of plum-ish fruits nearby and was wondering what the hell these were haha.

I have a few of these and the neighbour has a plum tree just 3m away. The roots are at a right angle to the stem when I pull them out as in the 2nd pic too. That explains why they are tough to pull out. Question is then how do I stop them coming up from nextdoor?
