If you go to the store, buy some aquarium water prep solution, it dechlorinates the water and deactivates heavy metals. Its like 5 dollars for a bottle that will last you 5 years.
I always use tap water. 30 years of violets. No problem. I just put it in a large pitcher and let it sit for several days before using so the Chlorine can off-gas as much as possible. In order, the things that violets don’t like: 1) over watering 2) too much sun, 3) drafts 4) drying out too much and 5) tap water
