Yes it’s a geum but it’s not an ornamental variety it just has those tiny yellow flowers and a straggly growth habit. If you don’t like it then it’s a weed

You can try. You will fail.
Dig them pit and get all the roots

These spread like crazy once they’re in seed – they’re literally the only thing I pull out ruthlessly- all other weeds that insects like I leave but these guys seem to only be evil

Oh god it’s that thing with the velcro seeds, i pull that up relentlessly otherwise the seeds get in my clothes and stab me.

Herb Bennett. Unfortunately, it spreads like mad from seeds and roots, the only way I can keep it under control is by stopping the flowering.

We get these in our garden. They’re a weed.

Wood avens. Pull them out before they go to seed (probably too late now) otherwise they’ll spread like mad.

Did you plant it?
Do you like it?
If the answer to the any of the above is “no” you should pull it out. The art of gardening is to grow things on purpose
In medieval times I believe it was considered medicinal if you’re into that sort of thing. There’ll be plenty more next year even if you dig them all out – they’re super common
