Abgesehen davon, dass überschüssiges Wasser hier nicht bündelt, sollte ich etwas tun, um es aufzuräumen? Wie frische Kompost hinzufügen oder etwas anderes?

Personally, I’d leave it be.
Pull out larger weeds as they grow maybe but that to me looks a lot nicer than ‘neat and tidy’ empty space.
I’d go with a wood chip mulch if you want to tidy it up and keep it low maintenance but personally I would go with a ground cover plant to hide the soil. Something like a Saxifrage
A mulch of compost is almost never a bad thing. Especially on clay soil which is what yours looks like.
