This is how I feel when I have my home to myself. I love my roommates but having the place to myself is like I can actually take a deep breath and fully relax

The oversize length of the new foliage is an indication that it wasn’t getting sufficient light exposure. I strongly encourage you to increase it. You’ll know that you’re successful when you get shorter leaves. These new ones are trying to make up for reduced exposure. Then you’ll get new foliage more frequently. 💚
edit: spelling
Another indication of the light exposure issue is the spacing of the leaves.

Were you overwatering it before?

I just want to say I love the wooden wall art/shelves. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them on Instagram, curious if you got your inspiration from there too?

Did you build or buy that shelving? It’s gorgeous, just like your plants! 💚
Wow, this gives me so much hope. My sago palm’s been on a year-long silent retreat, and I was beginning to think it had passed on.

I HATE these….growing up my family had huge ones and my father would make me gather up all the fronds so he could trim. The amount of small cuts and pollen…. They do produce a fun little thing in the middle that I used to pretend was a dragon egg

Magnificently etiolated.
It needs light. Like, SO MUCH more light. Those fronds are a very clear sign that it’s going to die in that spot. They’re long and skinny and pale because it’s trying to find the sun.
Move it outside if possible. That’s a full-sun species, not an indoor plant.

I brought home the ruby ficus that was delivered to my grandma’s memorial service when she passed. It looked healthy enough, but didn’t really grow. I spent 6 weeks at my parents over the holidays, came home and she had tripled in size 😂

4 years so mine also grew whilst I was on holiday for a few weeks and grew through the window blinds and are all kinked. It has two more fronds (?)this week so I’m being careful they aren’t touching anything

Your plant is dying and is in desperate need of light.
