you can’t really kill a plant from trimming. just cut the stem in places where it’s too long, with sharp scissors.

Truly this is a plant that thrives on being pruned regularly. Really good job growing this one if you haven’t pruned it yet it’s amazing!

You can literally cut this plant down to the dirt, and it will be back in a couple of weeks. I have one indoors, and I prune it and throw the clippings in shady areas in my yard. It grows like mad, freezes in winter, and comes back in spring.

Just cut off a few pieces that are around 3-4 inches long and remove the lower leaves and pop them in some water with a splash of vodka to kill any bacteria!

They’re super-easy to propagate and they are vigorous growers that like to be pruned.

This plant is extremely resilient. I would not worry about taking cuttings.

I cut my onto a shape I like took prices and just stuck them in wet soil and they are now just as big as original plant. I also moved to PNW and started some on sunny patio and they are huge already! Only way to kill this plant I’d over watering and no sun.

How… mine is a few bare stems with drying leaves… only the tips thrive… what can I do with the cuttings, plant them back in the soil? Do I need to feed it a lot of fertiliser?

you are NOT going to kill that thing. Spiderworts only get bigger when you cut them. They thrive off of being trimmed, chopped, w/e.
