Danke!

so the trees you want require full sun, how do you plan to give, whatever you decide on, the required light? that door won’t be enough.

There sadly probably wouldn’t be enough light for trees here (although I’m not incredibly knowledgeable about trees and shrubs, I know many of them have higher light requirements than a lot of houseplants) as well as having to consider possible issues you may encounter with constant fungus gnats in your home.
This is a cool idea though!

You would need need light through the roof for this to work.

With skylights and a couple of grow lights don’t see why not?

Maybe this is a bit of a tangent, but besides the AI slop media doesn’t help by putting plants where they can’t thrive in indoor sets. Catching these instances has started to get in the way of my enjoyment of entertainment.

This type of thing might actually be constructed for a TV show set.

    6. Maybe a big planter with snake plants? They look good, tolerate low light and low water, and they can get nice and tall 🙂

      Obviously AI.

But for this to work I imagine you’d need to have several of those trees outside somewhere and a full-time bonsai arborist.

Also the planter would need to be on wheels.

Then every few days you could have your staff wheel the planter out to the nursery and select four more perfect specimens and replace them in the planter and the gravel and the small shrubs and wheel it back inside again.

Ai slop buuuuuuuuut a good way to have lots of plants, have lots of sun roof, my sister was able to load the tops to kitchen cupboards from a single solid sunroof, which can change the vibe of a room drastically.

You could research into fiddle leaf fig trees, corn plants, or possibly (as it saw someone else mention) the snake plants.

These are all house plants, that can all get pretty tall- you can also chose ones that are already pretty tall at a home improvement store or on a site like fast-growingtrees.com.

I personally have no issue growing any of these 3 indoors with indirect lighting. My windows are much smaller and not open all the time, although im sure they’d thrive with extra lighting!!

    10. You might be able to achieve something similar with plants that are more shade tolerant.

Fiddle-leaf figs and Rubber Trees are quite commonly grown indoors, so may be better suited for this kind of setup than olive trees.

Although if neither you or your wife are particularly good with plants, maybe you would be better off with synthetic plants, as this kind of setup would be a big commitment.

Every tree is so smooth and perfect and almost identical… I think ai

I live in a big apartement with wall-to-ceiling Windows and tried to have potted trees indoors and the main problem was pests. We had enormous lights, high moisture and everything set up for success but without very good ventilation (read, actual wind) trees will get bugs and you can’t just rinse them off in the shower. It is not worth the hassle.

This is such a cute idea!! If the building has no roof though, otherwise I’d recommend investing in realistic fake trees.

That way you don’t have to worry about shedding leaves, dirt, roots, repotting, possible pests, watering, and light.

Oh, and kids that like to grab the dirt and make a mess

Without a very bright light above each tree, not a chance in hell. Even shade tolerant ficus trees would struggle without grow lights.

Olive trees don’t even do well smack in the middle of a south facing window. They’d be dead in months.
