The graft often dies when the rootstock suckers. Not always though. Let it flower and decide if you like it?
I had a grafted Peace rose which someone gave me that did this. I was actually digging it up for the compost when I realised it had a few roots of its own. I separated the two and they’re both thriving. It felt like Siamese twin surgery!
