Hallo zusammen, erster Beitrag hier, als ich versuche, einen überwachsenen Garten zu verjüngen …
Ich habe einen Strauch, den ich wirklich mag, den ich dumm zu weit zurückgeschnitten habe (ich werde nicht versuchen zu erklären, warum ich das getan habe!)
Sie können sehen, wo ich den Hauptstamm zurückgeschnitten habe, nachdem ich die Zweige in Raserei entfernt habe, was ich bereue. Ich habe das neue Wachstum nicht berührt, das sich um den Kofferraum schlängelt und gesund aussieht.
Meine Fragen – was ist der beste Weg vorwärts, um das Chaos, das ich gemacht habe, aufzuräumen? Und wird der Hauptstamm in irgendeiner Form wieder wachsen?

Likely some dormant buds will appear in the coming weeks. I wouldn’t worry too much.
Is it a rhododendron? They are fairly difficult to kill. It may shoot from the base. Mulch it with ericaceous compost or chipped bark. The alternative if you’re not really attached to it and my preferred option is dig it out and plant something else that you love, maybe a new rhododendron.
Don’t worry too much,it happens to the best of us in the moment! Since there’s healthy new growth coming up, it should recover well over time. Just keep it well watered (but not soggy), mulch around the base to hold moisture, and avoid feeding for now so it can focus on root repair. Come next spring, it should start thickening up again. Patience is key, you’ve not lost it
