Nur um zu zeigen, dass Sie nicht jährlich Blumenwiesen erneut aussagen müssen. Lassen Sie letztes Jahr Samen, dies hat sich zu einem Vergnügen entwickelt.
That is absolutely gorgeous! I bet the bees love you.

That’s stunning.
Can I ask what seed mix you used initially, if any?

Wonderful. What prep did you originally do and what seed mix. I tried to create meadow style but it failed badly

The ground was under plastic for years with gravel on top (previous owner). Removed the plastic and dug the gravel in once the builders left and dug in two bags of Orgro organic matter to about 25m² the first year, it then got a bag spread over it in the spring before sowing and raking in. No sowing this year, we were going to do something different but we had no rain for a month so we left it and this came up. Mix is Moles Seed “Throw to Grow” Little Carpet mix. This is planted on a NW facing garden against a three story terrace, not much in winter but comes alive in the summer.
I used to specify floral meadow mixes for local authorities, these and the ones from Pictorial Meadows are excellent performers and successional flowering goes through till autumn.

Did you just let last years stuff die and rot in place or did you cut and take it away?

Great! I can’t ever get my wildflowers to actually work
I scattered a pack over a few beds, in two nothing grew, and the third I thought took off, but it turned out to be mostly willowherb…. a few sweet peas and about 5 either gladioli or lucifers or an iris Google Lens has yet to make its mind up…

I am trying to do this every year but never nothing grows. This year only the poppies are coming but the rest is nothing. What I am doing wrong.

Absolutely stunning, and really appreciate all the details you’ve given. I have an annoying gravel patch I want gone, and this has given me something to work with : )

This is a great post and is exactly the same as I am hoping to achieve in my garden. Would like to have a full seasonal wildflower garden for insects.
You may not have this issue and would appreciate anyone’s input on this.
How do you manage animals from flattening these plants ? I don’t mind them finding a spot to sleep, but they tread down everywhere.
