It’s called Bird of Paradise.
If you want to grow one, they are very easy and messy.I threw one in the back of the block,with the intention of setting up a garden.and forgot about it.Six months later it threatened to take over a corner of the yard.

Strelizia or Bird of Paradise. I found out that it’s called that because it looks like the picture on the left, not the right. 😂

Strelitzia reginae. There is another, S. nicolai, that has white and black flowers – known as Giant Bird of Paradise. We have both and enjoy them both.

I have a bird of paradise plant that hasn’t flowered at all since I bought it. What am I doing wrong?
Used to work at a florist shop. When the orange petals (usually the top) start to fade, we would pull them off. Next stick your gloved finger in the green slimy “pocket” and pull out some new orange petals.
