String of pearl can be hard to propagate but you could pull off the ones at the bottom of the stem and water propagate. I did that w my string of hearts and had success

Mine have propped great in water- grew long roots. When I tried to prop them in soil they never rooted

Fill a pot with 50:50 pearlite/potting soil. Then take a much smaller terracotta pot without a drainage hole (any unglazed bisque fired vessel will work) and bury it almost to the rim in the media. Fill the empty vessel with water, and lay the prop down on the media, patting it down a little, and put the whole thing in a sunny spot. Refill the vessel when it’s low on water.

I can kill string of pearls with the best of them, but when I use this method the survivors explode into dripping, draping, monsters.

  4. I just propped one in a shot glass.. the bottom half in water.. it got a single root that I let get about an inch before putting in soil. Now its doing great and growing new limbs like crazy.
