Been like this for a while but I need to sort it out. I’ve raked it before but it just grows back. I assume I need some chemical treatment first then resow the patchy areas with seeds? Iron sulphate for the moss and lawn friendly weed killer for the weedy stuff? Thanks.

How often will you want to do that?

Things grow. If you put a load of poisonous chemical on it, it’ll still grow back. Then you’ll put more on, and it’ll still grow back. It’s a living ecosystem and it’ll do its thing.
A lot of unwanted things like moss are signs of things like soil compaction and thatch buildup.
Rake, scarify, aerate, overseed. It’s more effort, but less harm to the environment.
Care for the soil and the lawn will look after itself. Provide the grass with the environment it wants so it can be stronger, rather than trying to poison the competition to death. The grass still won’t like soil.
Side note: when people kill moss etc with chemicals, it goes black and looks foul. Then they still have to do most of the raking, scarifying, and overseeding anyway.
If you want a “pristine” lawn like a golf green, it’s more work than any flowerbed.

Why do you need to sort it out? It will be full of beneficial creepy crawlies that birds love to eat. You will probably find in spring the ‘weeds’ have pretty flowers and are full of pollinators.
The dream of a perfect sward is just that. Embrace the moss and wildflowers and you get more time to relax and enjoy your garden to. What’s not to love?

Don’t, it’s green so just let it be. Much better for wildlife to have variety anyway

I’d leave as is. If it’s short and green, it’s a lawn.
But you need to scarify and aerate. Check out Premier Lawns on YouTube, fella up the north has loads of videos on it.

Evergreen 4 in 1 will kill all but grass. When I moved a few years back I had a lawn like yours with moss, clovers and all sorts. I applied the evergreen and it killed it all, so the garden appeared all dead and brown, but with seeding several times a year it’ll slowly turn in to just dense grass.
I do regret it though as the moss and clover was pretty and green, and seemingly more hardly than just grass in my clay soil.
Honestly I’d just leave it. It looks nice and green from a distance and attracts bees and other bugs. If you’re worried about the small bits of bare soil, you can just seed over that area to fill it in, so it’s all green.

Rather than belittle you for wanting a nice lawn I’m going to tell you what you actually need to do.
The lawn will need scarifying, a week or two later it will need fertilising with weed and feed. I’d do it when the grass is actively growing 👍🏽

Scarifier.
Then aerate.
Then cover with lawn sand with loam and iron.

The moss is a drainage issue.

If the moss is growing better than the grass then you have perfect conditions for moss and not such good conditions for grass. Damp? Shady? Or worse still, damp and shady? Improve the drainage by spiking the grass all over with a digging fork and brush sharp sand over the lawn. You could also rake out the thatch of dead grass, moss and weeds and over sow with good quality grass seed. Personally, I like a mixed moss/grass/clover/daisy lawn

Cut it down short give it a moss treatment
Wait a couple days and scarify
And wait for April to reseed and feed

The weeds are small leaved, so use a liquid weed and feed . Because a grained version will fall away from them. (Not touch them).

Scarify, remove perennial weeds with a trough, aerate and then overseed
