If there’s a stone wall behind it & sheltered it creates extra warmth & more blooms, nice!

Mine are still going strong. There a wee bit small I’ve only got two largeish ones. But the slugs omg they are devouring them. my mistake was putting bark chippings down in my garden which were a little too chunky. I have now given the slugs a home for the night 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I’ve got foxgloves flowering… I think nature has decided it feels like April outside!

    5. I think the months have shifted a bit. September is more like August in my youth. Even small changes in temprature have massive effect on the plants that have lived the same way for hundreds of thousands of years.

    6. I have (and still have) had primroses flowering all year long. I have found it a funny year.

Just saw that my caption didn’t load, the closed buds are giant hollyhocks! All from seeds found in an old biscuit tin whilst clearing out a family member’s shed. Sow by date 2012 was the latest I think! I didn’t expect any to flower at all!

In seven years of avid gardening I’ve never managed to win the slug battle with these!
