Danke 🙏

Get some turf and replace all the dead patches. You might need to add some soil underneath them..then just cut and fit like you would carpet tiles.. just need a sharp knife and water well to establish..give it a few months and you’ll be able to use a garden roller to even out any dips.
Whilst you’re young and not in bad habits, look up the plethora of better alternatives than lawns.
At least aim to put a big border with some native flowering plants, a wild patch if you’re feeling charitable.
Honestly it doesn’t look bad – way more than half the lawn is green so you’re doing plenty right
You can often find cheap rolls of turf this time of year or you’re coming up to autumn which is good for growing grass from seed. Either way, prep the area well and keep it watered until established
Every garden has to start somewhere! Lawns can be hard to maintain, have you considered creating a border? The colour and variety can help distract from your lawn (and is also better for the environment).
You’ll need to dig out the soil to a depth of at least 3-4 inches, about a foot wide, and mix in some decent compost., then place some easy-growing perennials like fuchsias, hostas, or hydrangeas, geraniums, or lavender (you can buy these already grown in small pots from your local garden centre). You could get a trellis and consider climbers like honeysuckle, jasmine, or passionflowers too. Primroses and pansies are cute small perennials if you want less height (though these will flower in spring).
Good luck!
