Zum ersten Mal in meinem Erwachsenenleben habe ich neuen Rasen! Der Garten wurde angelegt, wir haben den Rasen gemäß den Anweisungen der Verleger gewässert und insgesamt ist er wirklich gut gelungen.
Ich habe jetzt meinen dritten Schnitt gemacht. Jedes Mal habe ich eine Woche gewartet und dann die Einstellung meines Rasenmähers geändert, und bei Tiefe 3 von 5 scheint das Gras eine gute Länge zu haben – ich schätze, so um die 40 mm.
Ich habe mich gefragt, welche Art von Rasendünger und welche Routine sich bewährt hat. Ist ein wöchentlicher Schnitt zu viel? Ist Ende September in diesem Jahr ein guter Zeitpunkt für den letzten Schnitt und wie oft sollte ich mit was düngen?

(Wir haben zwei Hunde und ich glaube, ich muss schneller mit dem Gartenschlauch umgehen, wenn sie da waren. Außerdem haben wir zwei Kaninchen, also weiß ich nicht, ob ich darauf achten muss, wie lange es nach der Verwendung von Grasfutter dauert, bis sie gefahrlos ein wenig daran knabbern können, sie ernähren sich natürlich von Heu und Salatblättern usw. usw.)

Feed changes as the seasons change. establishing new turf you’d want to feed with a higher potash feed to promote root growth, nitrogen for encouraging vegetative growth – iron for that deep green.
Mowing is adjusted to the health of the lawn and not necessarily time routine – just take a third off each time. spring/early summer i’m mowing pretty regularly 2 times a week.
Looks really healthy – you should be pleased! Rules of thumb for me are keep it longer in prolonged times of dry weather, keep an eye on the thatch, have a scan for forbs as the lawn matures and adjust feeding accordingly.
I personally stay away from things like wetting agents, selective herbicides etc as I like to encourage forbs like Prunella. I’m not a lawn guy like some are.

Depending on how long the turf has been down , I wouldn’t recommend lowering the blades to low for the rest of this season , just cut on a medium height and regular watering , as for any fertiliser don’t apply anything for at least 6months as if its decent turf from a reputable supplier they will have put all the relevant nutrients in the ground to develop the turf. If you can and the lawns not to wet , one cut a month throughout winter will just keep the lawn in order and promote more root growth , add nitro grow in spring as it’s the best fertiliser for new lawns , getting the right amount of nitrogen is key as it’s the nitrogen that promotes root growth, good solid root structure is vital for a healthy lawn and keeps the weeds from getting hold too , hope this helps 👌🏻
