I had one plant very similar to that, which I used to just put the fork in the crown and split in half, throw half away, to keep it under control. Then I noticed lots of seedlings, and didn’t want that problem so I dug it out completely, and three years later it’s still a constant battle of pulling up seedlings during the summer. I’d have a close look around, just in case!
It’s a sedge.
It will grow bigger and it will multiply by seed.
It took a mattock to get it out of a school garden and plant a tree instead.
