Dieses Jahr habe ich bis Mitte Juli keine Tomatenbildung beobachtet.

Was ist dieses Jahr passiert? Letztes Jahr hatte ich ein Beet und meine Töpfe und dieses Jahr sind alle meine Beete voll und ich befürchte, dass ich in kurzer Zeit Millionen haben werde.
Helfen Sie mir, mich besser zu fühlen.

I’ve been ‘trying’ to grow tomatoes for about 15 years. Every year I think ‘this is the year’ and every year for all the time and effort I put in I get a few piddly tomatoes, some red, most green and some sort of disease that slowly kills the plants.
So from now on, I will instead spend ridiculous amounts on locally grown ‘heritige’ tomatoes and sit there eating them tutting to myself that I ‘could’ have grown these, knowing full well that I couldn’t and didn’t.
You and I are in the same boat. I was convinced that sluggy infestations had put me too far behind (the plants I have growing are all cloned from the bits of the original plants that got munched) and I had genuinely given up on having any tomatoes at all this year
Of course . They are still green. Even in the greenhouse.
Yes. Mine are also all still green. Plants at the allotment got blight, so not even sure if I’ll get any from them. Bad year for toms.

This year started late, was damp, and cold.
Last year, we did have some cold snaps. But generally it was damp but warm.
Other years have been pretty decent.
This year is a failure for most of my crops as many are only just flowering. Down in the south.
It’s upsetting, the slug surge even more so as it destroyed my first tranche of plants.
It happens. Next year, we can hope, will be better.
If you have lots in short form then freezing works, canning works too (remember, a majority of tinned tomato’s are pretty good as they are canned at their peak ripeness ).
I let some fall and this year my best looking plants (unlikely to do much) are the candidate ones from last year.
This year sucked. But we did our best. Next year (we hope) will be better.
I think it’s the nighttime temprature that really matters. They need the 15C at night to really get going. We have that now they will pick up.
Yes mine are the same but I’ve had tomatoes for a couple of weeks in the GH. My tip is to pick them when any red shows and put them on the side in a warm kitchen in time order that they were picked. In a normal kitchen they will go fully red in 3 or 4 days with no chance of then dropping or something else eating them or them becoming over ripe. In the kitchen you can see exactly what stage they are at and nothing gets wasted.
I’ve had about 7 red tomato’s so far from one of my plants in the greenhouse. It’s just unfortunate as they’re so incredibly small. I’m pretty sure from some of the bouts of hot weather we’ve had I let it go too long without being watered properly and so stunted their growth.
I sowed 50 seedlings this year as my first year trying and I was really excited to try a bunch of varieties. Sowed in late march & to date I have enjoyed 1 ripe cherry tomato. Between the conservatory and outside bed there’s probably a good 40-50 cherries still on the vine but none seem to have gotten any closer to ripe in the last month

This year has not been great for tomatoes, too cold and wet.
This time last year my tomatoes were taking over the world, I’ve had a total of 10 tomatoes this year… off 4 tomato plants!

Mine in the greenhouse are growing soooo slowly. I started them fairly late and I’m worried they won’t fruit before the frosts get them. The tomato feed says to feed around the first crop of tomatoes – so, er, looks like you’re not getting any feed for a while yet?
Mine are at least 6 weeks behind
I’m growing mine in the south of france and still in the same boat, despite baking sunshine every day
Yup, had an extremely slow start and have had green tomatoes on the plant now for around a month, they just refuse to ripen!
Mine were way ahead with the help of a cold frame, but only just had some harvest, ripening jas been slow and blossom end rot has effected a good few
Maybe tomatos didn’t like this seasons weather but has anyone else’s roses gone crazy? I’ve only got a small plant and I counted 18 flowers on one stem alone!
