Wie im Titel beschrieben, habe ich den Stechpalmenstumpf (glaube ich), den ich entfernen möchte, von den Vorbesitzern abgesägt. Habe ich eine Chance, ihn mit einer Hacke herauszubekommen, wenn man die Nähe zum Zaun bedenkt, oder ist es besser, wenn ich jemanden damit beauftragen kann, ihn herauszuschleifen?

How much time and determination do you have? I took a larger one out with exactly the same mattock and as long as you snip/axe the roots, and get some leverage on the stump, you should be fine. Mine took about 3-4 hours and destroyed my back, but it’s doable!
I have that mattock and smashed bigger and smaller roots with it. But I tend to just smash it up rather than try and dig it out.
I try and dig with a spade around the stump, slightly further away from the stump till I have a good spade depth hole. Once you have that, you can work towards the middle cutting more and more roots so it comes free.
You will sweat but it’s certainly doable.
I did a bigger one in a bout four hours with a mattock and axe. It’s a real graft but fine with the tools you have

Depends if you have a tap root, much easier if you don’t. I tend to dig a foot away around until I hit roots, then use a root cutter bar to go through them then mattock it out.
Drill out the the pithy core with the largest drill bit you have and pour in a desiccant like bicarbonate of soda.
Well you’ve got the right tool for the job. So if you don’t mind a long afternoon of bad-breaking work I’d say go for it.
I once removed a row of privet with a 6ft steel bar. Not recommended! A mattock would have had them out in half the time.

I found a slightly different way to remove stump. I got my big bad ass sds drill, some big spade drill bit and an hour later the stump was reduced to a pile of wood chippings. Sds was obviously in drilling mode, not hammering, but it was for it’s sheer power. And you guys believe me, I know the physical hardship of removing a stump with only hand tools, it’s usually at least a day of hard labour.
A reciprocating saw makes light work of stumps – you just need to excavate until you find a route, stick the saw in the ground, cut the root. Try wiggle the stump, rinse and repeat. I took out 4 stumps much larger than this with that method.
Absolutely do able. Just keep chipping away at the roots and try to go under. Won’t be long.
I took out 3 the same way but I dig out as much as I could with a spade first.
As others said they to break through the bigger roots and then use leverage to get it out.
Hard work but satisfying once you manage it.
Absolutely do-able with a mattock and an axe, would have been easier if the fence weren’t there so you could get all around it and the stump had been left couple of feet tall so you had leverage but just dig and chop and you’ll have it out in no time.
You’re so close to getting it out
A trick you can do is use axe side of the mattock to gradually split the stump. That’ll get rid of most of the above ground bit and if you get it right then it’ll split a nice big chunk off.
Then you can dig / smash out the roots.
Get some shears under there and cut all the tiny roots, it’s the amount of those that are binding it to the ground.
She’s pretty close to the fence, so you’ll have to dig under her more. You’ve got this far… imagine the satisfaction when she pops out. 😍
Looks like holly to me which in my experience is tough. How much of a challenge do you like? Is the effort going to be worth it. There will be plenty of plants you can grow over it to disguise it 🌞🌻

I dug out a stump like that last year. It was very old and iron hard, so I dug it out as much as I could then managed to saw through the tap root with a pruning saw. He remnants were much easier to remove
Cut th roots with an axe and it will come out like a treat
Drill two holes, one from the top in the middle and one from the side to the middle hole. Add some kindling and petrol. Light it up and leave it.
Just put a large bottomless pot over it, fill with soil, grow a plant in it and forget it. It’ll rot down in a couple of years or so.
I’d drill it and slowly burn it or I’ve heard copper nails will kill a stump off not too sure though
Yes. Dig around and cut off the sideways roots and then below and cut the tap root. It will be hard work and will take a few hours but you can do it. Take your time and remember you don’t have to do it all in one session.
I’d use a spade and an axe- once you expose the roots and chop them the stump pops out no problem at all. (There’s still a great deal of sweat, tears and possibly blood involved in exposing the roots!).

Just get some chemical stump remover. It will rot it down over the winter
If you can use a chainsaw to cut slots in the stump, if not, drill holes. Fill with Epsom salts.
Or just use bigger and bigger spade bits to remove pretty much the whole stump. Use a mains drill btw!
Similar type stump. Used a chainsaw to cut slats and used a mattock to break it apart in the slats

Would have been easier if you left a taller stump you could have winched it out
Yes. But it’ll take you several hours of hard graft.
Could rent a stump grinder, cheaper, less effort alternative to a pick axe would be just leveraging it out with a fork or shovel. Not one of them cheap wooden handles ones though, need steel. I broke one doing the same task.
Beats going to the gym!! Remember the tap root is designed to sway!!
Or drill a hole in the middle of the stump, then another on the diagonal to meet it, pour in some paraffin and make a swedish torch!
You could remove it with a tooth pick , if you consider time more glacial.

Most trees have 4-5 large roots and 1 going down. Smash out the bug roots then you should be able to rock it out. Will take a long time but it’s doable. I’ve taken out 6 in the last couple months
