Welcome to the world of indoor gardening! Succulents are a great start—they’re resilient and come in such a variety of shapes and colors. For dark or black flowering plants that are pet-safe, you might want to look into options like Black Bat Flowers (Tacca chantrieri) or Black Mondo Grass (Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’). They add a unique touch to any indoor garden. As for tips, make sure your succulents get plenty of sunlight and don’t overwater them—let the soil dry out between waterings. Happy gardening!
I actually started with plants that tolerated more attention, which was good. I’m too impulsive to wait for cactus soil to dry out. It was much easier to watch my tradescantia plants (fast growers, hard to kill) get a new leaf every second day. It’s not right for everyone, though
I also had several propagation jars and checked for roots every day. That kept me busy without worrying about over-watering
That is a great plant to start off with! I adopted one from a friend. They can take a surprising amount of abuse. Unfortunately, mine is not in my plant room so I forget to water it often 😅 Had it 2yrs, still growing.
I recently made an impulse buy of Moses in the Cradle. Leaves are green one side and purple on the other. It’s looking to be an easy one to care for
Very pretty. I have a baby. I’m enjoying watching her grow.
