Schefflera, Jade, Oxalis, Hoya. Hoya is quickly becoming one of my favorites, and there’s so many kinds!

I love pothos because they are very easy to propagate. You just cut off below a node (a bump where a leaf comes out) and stick it in water. They are very forgiving. They do best like any vining plant if they can grow vertically. The leaves will be much bigger.

I also love ZZ plants. Also very forgiving and best to water infrequently if it’s in low light, similar to snake plant. Those two seem to do best if I have kind of forgotten about them.

I love my money plant as well. I repot it in a bigger pot every year and it’s been growing a lot.

I have a variegated schefflera that is unassuming but it’s been easy and reliable. It also can be propagated if you chop off a “branch” and put in water. It takes a while to grow roots but I was able to get a baby plant out of it.

House plants that I have found more difficult and would not recommend are Crotons. I think they need a lot of light and a lot of humidity be happy. I have had them growing out of the top of an aquarium and they seemed to do well. Otherwise they just sit there and don’t grow.

Do you have any cats or dogs that might eat the plant? A lot of houseplants are toxic to cats in particular. If you have pets make sure to look up if they are safe first.

Also, get some grow lights, they will totally change your plants!

Make sure you use a good draining soil. Look up how to make a houseplant soil mix on YouTube. Most premade potting soil mixes are way too heavy and the roots stay wet and rot.

Also. ALWAYS have a pot with a drainage hole.

    5. If you are interested in succulents haworthia retusa or copperi are personal favorites.
