Me outside trying to prune or thin our veggies so the garden is not completely out of control.
My wife: Stop it, what are you doing!? Let them live their own life!

Step 1, buy Costco pumpkin for Halloween
Step 2, compost pumpkin
Step 3, add compost to raised beds
Step 4, have giant pumpkins taking over the garden
Yeah this looks exactly like my patio now lol

I have this too in the back corner of my yard, growing zucchinis or pumpkins or squash lol. Also I threw an old pumpkin into a hole in the middle of my yard last October after we pulled a tree out. In March we filled in the hole, tilled that whole area, covered it in garden beds and mulch. You better believe a pumpkin plant grew right next to one of the beds, and already grew a full size green pumpkin 😅

My wife loves cottage gardens and is attempting one. The other week she asked “what type of garden do I have? Chaos garden?” I busted out laughing because it is a perfect description lmao
This season, I decided I wanted to grow pumpkins. I planted seeds and lovingly cared for them and watered them. They are all dead. Instead, I have 3 pumpkins patches now growing randomly on my property due to leaving last years pumpkins out for the deer. Only chaos thrives, lesson learned.

My mom chaos gardens. She lives with me and I said I wanted to try growing a few plants this year to try to get to know the new zone we are in. We went from 8b to 6b with micro climates so there is a learning curve. She went out a bought two 2×8 garden beds plus filled the 12-15ft section along my fence, and several containers of peppers and tomatoes. What also complicates things is she just throws the plants in the ground in non-sensical patterns. I was setting up drip irrigation and it’s been such a pain in the ass because I can’t just do a like of it. I have to do circular patterns and the watering needs are all different. It’s actually been quite stressful and less enjoyable because I have very little time to do what I want to and I’m always spending my free time fixing what she did or helping her with some project I already told her we could t do right now. She’s driving me nuts.

Chaos gardening…? Is that like where you just let your plants grow around your junk pile? Cause that’s what it looks like.

If I had to garden in rows, I would never do it. Chaos though? I’m in
I thought I had it bad with a lemon cucumber that is going freaking everywhere! I have taken to placing yard art in its path to encourage climbing! LOL

Our fire pit has become a volunteer to a pumpkin family. We haven’t had a fire this year and last falls pumpkins were thrown into the fire pit for some stupid reason.

It’s chaos, and it’s so much better than the ugly lawn next door.

Where we threw our pumpkins to compost.
Yes! I’ve got about a dozen plants sprouting in an area where I throw food scraps to compost. Which varieties? No clue. It’s all chaos.
