Oh, was für ein seelenloser Ort das war, als wir zum ersten Mal in unser Haus einzogen. Ich wusste, dass es Potenzial hatte, aber ich war erstaunt, wie schnell es durch diese Schönheiten verändert wurde. Was für eine endlose Freude sie uns bereiten. Von Mai bis Dezember(!) genießen wir diese Blüten. Der Zaun absorbiert die Hitze der Sonne und hält sie bis in die Nacht hinein warm, was sie wirklich sehr glücklich macht. Ich bin so froh, dass sie uns eine weitere Saison lang mit ihrer Schönheit und ihrem Duft beglücken.

I’ve really wanted to do something like this between a paved path and the fence in my garden but the width of is only around 40cm. Do you think that’s doable at all?

They look incredible. I have Gentle Hermione – doesn’t it just smell amazing? To me that Turkish delight scent is the quintessential rose smell. They all look wonderful, amazing to see how much they’ve grown in three years.

What is the white one called with the small flowers? I love David Austin well worth the money imo. I’ve got many shrub roses but not taken the plunge with a climber or rambler yet….
I cut mine back almost to the ground the last two years cos that’s what you’re supposed to do. Not blooming yet this year though buds are there. I want them to be big, so I should stop cutting them right
That rambler has been pruned so beautifully! Did you just keep the canes at the back and got rid of the bushy ones at the front?
So beautiful! Do you do anything special to care for them? I was gifted a DA shrub rose last year and it’s already covered in black spot and the leaves are falling. No buds yet this year either. 😔💔 I never seem to have much luck with roses. Its position gets full sun for much of the day.
How on earth are they so massive after 3 years?! My David Austin climber is a only metre tall after 3 years, and I follow all the care instructions, mulch and feed it every year etc. I’m so jealous!

Absolutely stunning, well done. Started my journey in March with a James Galway climber, and over the past month it has exploded in growth, I’m so happy! I had actually planned to keep it in a large container for the first six months, before I was certain on it’s permanent resting spot, but I’m gonna have to move it now because it is getting SO big 😂
Stunning! 😍 I have Claire Austin climbing over a pergola and she’s gorgeous! I find the petals fall very quickly, but it’s so prolific that there are always new blooms ready to replace the spent ones. I also have queen of Sweden, which gave me several new bonus bushes when I stuck a few stems that I’d pruned into a bare bed and forgot about them!
My pride and joy is Boscobel – incredible perfume and the most beautiful coloured petals, faded reddish-pink and coral. It has to be smelled to be believed 😄
