Wow absolutely beautiful. When I lived in San Diego I never got the chance to go and when I visited again last month we sadly didn’t get the chance to try to visit.

They also pup though. I’ve gotten some nice pups. Circle of life!

misting biweekly isn’t enough, love. You want to soak it in water for 15-30 min once every week or two, then let it dry upside down so water doesn’t collect in the crown and create rot.

Hopefully she makes a pup for you! Flowering means the mother plant is beginning her end, but if all goes as planned she makes a pup and sticks around for some time to help it grow. They’re such lovely whimsical plants!

About the dying thing… it’s not nearly as dramatic as that, and it takes a while. After blooming, the plant will start putting energy into growing pups instead of producing new leaves. They can last a very long time even after this process starts.

This is gorgeous! I’ve never heard of air plants dying after they flower… but I’ve only ever had one flower once and I’ve killed several! I have four, one of which has been with me for years and is basically the exact same size as when I got it, and two new ones I just acquired. Curious to see if they’ll ever bloom!

    6. I’ve never seen one bloom before and now I’m on a mission!!!! Thank you for sharing this gorgeous gift!!! 💕

Unfortunately tillandsia is monocarpic, so this guy will bloom beautifully and then die.
