I’m not an expert, but it looks like it could be a Rock Tulip?

Lilac Wonder tulip looks to be the most similar cultivar. There are certain tulips that have the pointier petals that make them look like a lily.

this is a tulip!! scientific name is tulipa saxatilis. these are classified under “botanical tulips” and the specific variety is called lilac wonder! it is heliotropic, meaning the little flower bud follows the sun and then opens when exposed to sunlight.
the big difference between garden and botanical tulips is that the former is often overbred and only lasts one year before plant vigor and bloom declines. the latter is more closer to its wild/uncultivated relatives with minor genetic changes, which means they retain their true perennial nature and reliably come back every year! they often establish a little colony given the right conditions. i also think its a nice little fact to know that tulips are related to (true) lilies!

It’s a species, or wild tulip. Lilac wonder. Tend to be perennial.
