Hallo, ich habe ein riesiges Südfenster mit zwei Farnen, die dort auf wundersame Weise das ganze Jahr über überleben, trotz der langen, grauen und kalten Winter hier in Kanada. Ich liebe sie, aber sie nehmen viel Platz in meiner Leseecke ein und sind etwas unordentlich. Welche anderen Pflanzen würden in einem solchen Raum gedeihen? Etwas etwas dichtes, aber nicht so buschiges? Vorschläge?

Pothos might be a good option! They trail, but you can cut them back and add cuttings to the original or new pots to keep them dense but not trailing and overwhelming. Maybe Hoya ropes or any string plant (string of hearts, pearls, frogs). You can keep all of these on the smaller, bushier side if you want!

Some Sansevieria (snake plant) and Aspidistra (cast iron plant) grow more tall and narrow than bushy, and generally have low leaf litter. Both prefer less moist soil than ferns.
Mini Schefflera, Calathea Mosaica, Lucerne Begonias are some of my bushy green favorites…and they don’t shed much, except the Lucerne when it’s blooming.
Why are you asking us for advice, and not the pupper? Look at him. Doggo has it ALL figured it.
