Mahonia but i’m not sure which exact species of its a garden plant its usually mahonia x media if its a forest plant its usually mahonia repens. Its really strong genus that can handle almost everything shade, sun, poor soils and tolerate neglect and poor treatment. They can be extremely cold hardy people completely underestimate this plant if temperatures are low enough it may be ome deciduous instead of evergreen and tolerate even lower temps.

They are quite easy to grow from seeds but you have to stratificate seeds for 3 to 6 months.

Its very possible this species does well indoors

This looks like Berberis aquifolium. Can I get a general location of where the photo was taken? It is a plant native to the western United States. The common name is Oregon grape, but the berries it produces are typically quite bitter and cause gastrointestinal distress.
