These are only going to get bigger. You dan chop back the bottom leaves but leave the tops. Agave Americana variegata
If you cut part of a leaf off it will look bad; look at some of the broken leaves you have for an example. For it to look OK you’d have to remove a select few entire leaves right to the base, possibly with a teeny pruning saw?
Plant will be ok with it but it will be really difficult to do the job in a neat way. Personally I’d leave it alone or just cut the damaged leaves right back if I really had to interfere!

I can’t say for sure, but if I were you, I’d remove every second one, as they seem quite compacted, and remove the lower leaves.

You might want to think about carefully removing several of those Agave at that size – they’re [expensive](https://www.nobridgenurseries.co.uk/product/agave-spectabilis-marginata-164/) and might be of interest to someone.
I agree with other posters, thin them out rather than cut them back. They’ll retain damage such as cut or broken leaves so be careful. You’ll easily get rid of these on freecycle possibly even sell on marketplace
Incredible plants. To buy those at that size would set you back a pretty penny and change. You can hack off all the lower leaves if you want. They grow from the centre. It’ll look crap for a year or more though.

I don’t think you can. I had a massive one that had outgrown it’s space and I had to rip it out (which was easier than I expected).
Yeah, start at the bottom, it will get sticky so use protection (gloves) and use the edging as a guide, don’t cut in too deep. Givd the.plants time to recover and regain a shape. Remove the dead bottom cut ldavds when withered and comd away easily.

They’re superb. I agree with the people saying you should remove every second plant, all the babies, and remove some whole lower leaves. But it will be challenging, maybe painful! The leaf tips are genuinely quite dangerous to eyes, i recommend goggles when you’re wrestling them. Pot up the babies. It may be hard to get the big ones out whole unfortunately. Because they are expensive, one option is to offer them free on Facebook marketplace or similar to anyone willing to remove them! They still have some growing to do by the way. Depending on the site, you may want to protect them in unusually cold winters, they’re tough but I lost some to getting frozen solid.
In that last picture I would take out every other plant. A small amount of pruning or leaf removal after that.
Do you know when they were planted? I’m guessing they love the sheltered spot next to the wall.
Post this on the British Cactus and Succulent Society’s Facebook page, I wouldn’t be surprised if you get a local member to offer to come and help you thin them out in exchange for a plant. You should then sell whatever you take out, agave and other succulent lovers will pay a small fortune for a plant that size that’s been growing outside.
