This is so beautiful! What zone are you in? Wondering if it could survive Texas heat

That first helleborus bloom is always something special because the wait for them to establish and finally flower feels like forever. The color and form on this one is really gorgeous for a first bloom too. They only get better with age as the plant matures and sends up more stems each year. What variety is this one and did you plant it in shade or part sun? I have been thinking about adding some to my north facing bed.

I just bought my first one today. I’m hoping it settles in and has lots of babies 🖤

The first bloom from a helleborus is always special because these plants take their time establishing and then reward your patience with flowers when almost nothing else is blooming yet. The fact that it is your first one makes it even more meaningful because now you know the plant is happy and will only get better each year as the clump expands and produces more flowers. What color did it turn out to be?

Gorgeous. I have — a lot — of helleborus and this made me sit up and say “wow”!
